About the Chef

Chef Isma – Chef Patron of Casà Andalucía

Chef Isma, a Berber chef raised between the Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean coast of Morocco, brings over 17 years of international culinary experience to Casà Andalucía in Smithers. Growing up in a culture renowned for its gourmet traditions and centuries-old culinary heritage, he inherited a deep appreciation for bold spices, intricate flavours, and the refined techniques of Mediterranean royal cuisine.

His professional journey spans Morocco, Spain, Qatar, Dubai, and Oman, allowing him to master a fusion of North African and Spanish flavours ors while incorporating the finesse of luxury international kitchens. At Casà Andalucía, Chef Isma channels this rich history into every dish, offering a menu that celebrates the elegance of Berber-inspired cooking, the vibrancy of Andalusian cuisine, and the artistry of Mediterranean gastronomy. Chef Isma emphasizes locally sourced, seasonal ingredients from regional farmers and suppliers, creating dishes that honor both the culinary past and the bounty of the present. Through Casà Andalucía, he aims to share not just flavours, but stories and traditions — turning every meal into a journey through history, culture, and the royal gourmet legacy of the Berber and Andalusian world.
